AnsaldoBreda produces high quality state-of-the-art Light Rail Vehicles (LRV’s) for the global trolley, tramway and urban transit markets.  LRV’s are lighter-weight electric passenger trains with reduced capacity for smaller volumes of people and traffic typically characterized by overhead electric lines (catenary) powered by a pantograph or trolley arm.  Trains operate in single or multi-car configurations at street level and grade-separated rights-of-way in both urban and suburban applications.  Passengers board from high and low platforms with headways (train intervals) typically ranging from 5-to-20 minutes during peak and non-peak periods respectively.  In addition to its US cities, AnsaldoBreda has produced LRV’s for Ankara, Genoa, Lille, Manchester, Naples, Oslo and Birmingham
